Black is an English word: first and foremost.
The power of love is in how it imparts knowledge.
Black is likely one of the first words we learnt--many of us--and it was about the furthest from love that something can be.
And this was in days when we had never thought about our own skin colour.
People were just people.
Nothing has really changed, has it?
But in grappling with the meaning of a word which can hardly be called a colour, we come across a word which it seems to fit.
• The Floggistrom.
And I don't think I am taking too much of a leap into saying that, in grappling with the meaning of this word, South Africans will find a picture of themselves.
