To change gear, as it were, why is South Africa resisting DTTV?

Why has it been a prime goal for us to revive the electronics industry and build our own set top boxes, when the electronics industry was only there to support the military, which was only there to support Apartheid?

Are we never going to give up the propaganda stories about South Africa designing helicopters better than the Apache? About us designing microprocessors?

About us being gods, essentially?
